MATT GHOLSON
Lead Pastor
Matt is a native of the East Texas area and lived there most of his life. He is a graduate of Texas A&M and obtained a degree in History. During this time, he met the love of his life, Jennifer. They are the proud parents of Savannah and Levi. Savannah graduated from Texas A&M and is a young educator changing lives. She and her husband, Cayle, are expecting their first child soon. Matt and Jennifer are excited to become grandparents for the first time! Levi currently attends Texas A&M and is active in the Corps of Cadets having served as a Mascot Handler and member of the Parsons Mounted Cavalry. In 2000, Matt surrendered to the ministry and began attending Texas Baptist Institute & Seminary. As he finished his course of studies at the seminary, he was invited to serve as a faculty member. He was blessed to fill that position for ten years. In 2009, he received his Masters of Theology, and in 2013, he received his Doctorate of Theology from the seminary. In the twenty-three years he has served in ministerial positions, Matt has seen God work in amazing ways and loves to see God use normal people to do amazing things. In his spare time, Matt loves to watch college football, hunt, read, hike, and, most of all, enjoy time with his family.
Brad Rountree
Worship Pastor & Senior Adults
Brad has served at New Liberty since October 12, 1977. He is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He married Rhonda Ashlock in 1983 and they have one son, Timothy and his wife Kaycee. During his life-journey, he has seen the worship ministries of New Liberty grow deeper in their love for the Lord and for the kingdom work in this place. His responsibility of leading worship each week has caused him to be constantly seeking new and meaningful ways to not only present the gospel narrative but to involve the many members of the church family in praise and worship each time they meet. Along with the ministries within the church, Brad is busy reaching outside the church walls to be a witness. He has served along side Bro. Ken Ashlock as a Garland Police Chaplain assistant for more than 30 years. God has given Brad many opportunities to share his passion for worship and singing....from concerts around the world to singing in Carnegie Hall with the Dallas Symphony and Chorus...but his real joy and passion are seen when he leads our church family in worship each week. Soli Deo Gloria ~ to God Alone be the Glory!

debbie Ainsworth
Financial Secretary
I am truly blessed to say I am first a Christian, then a wife and a mother of 2 girls, and was added the blessing of a son-in-law in 2009. I am originally from central Ohio, then moved to Texas at age 10, lived for a short time in Oklahoma City, then back to Texas. I lived life as a preacher's kid, and was raised by loving, Godly parents. God brought our family to New Liberty in April of 2004 and brought me to the position of financial secretary in February 2011. A glimpse at my work history which God used to bring me to this position were 7 years with Dillard's and 6 years with The Zale Corporation as a bookkeeper, I then worked for 12 years with Guaranty Bank in various positions, and finally Universal Technical Institute in the accounting department. I attended Arlington Baptist College and Eastfield Community College. The blessings in life I enjoy most are time with my family, watching my girls laugh together, eating, reading, walking, shopping and singing hymns. God has granted me blessings beyond measure and I pray I will live my life to reflect my gratitude for His great love and mercy.
Tammy Reese
Secretary to the Pastors
Tammy joined New Liberty’s staff in January 2001. She never, in her wildest dreams, thought she’d be working for a church. She grew up in Baptist churches, but never one that had staff other than pastors so it never crossed her mind it could ever be an option. Before she was hired, she was an active member involved in several ministries at New Liberty. She enjoys working with the membership and staff in the different ministries of our church. She oversees our member records, the church calendar, and scheduling of events and facilities at New Liberty. She also serves as the church clerk, maintaining church records, missionary reports, and other correspondence as needed. Tammy and her husband, Danny, settled in Murphy, Texas after he retired from the US Navy in 1997. They joined New Liberty as members in November of that same year. She enjoys spending time with their children, Tara and Mark, and their families, and are very proud of them. Their six grandkids bring much joy and happiness to their family and they enjoy loving on them every chance they get. Tammy enjoys reading, movies, junk store shopping, cooking, road trips, travel, and hanging out with friends and family.
